Party Etiquette

Hi, welcome to the topic of Party Etiquette. I was thinking about parties with May having so many graduations. Summer holidays just around the corner. And of course, June is the month for weddings. For the online social bloggers, we have linkup parties! 🙂

Have you ever wondered how to behave? What you should or should not say? Below are party tips to make you the best guest, one who is always welcome to social gatherings.

RSVP let the host if you will be attending or not.

Be On Time or 10 to 15 minutes after the start time. The host will most likely be doing last minute decorating.

Mingle visit everyone do not dominate a select few.

Be Present Keep the cell phone tucked away.

Engage actively take part in conversations. Look people in the eye when you speak with them.

Enjoy Yourself smile, do not stand in a corner.

Exit Graciously notice when guests begin to leave. The host provided an invite with start and end times. Be courteous and not overstay the welcome.

Say Thanks the host took the time to plan a get together. Let the host know that you enjoyed the party and thank them for inviting you.

In conclusion, etiquette is common sense.

Take Care. Best wishes, Debra

Wamego Tulip Festival here we go!

Meeting people is fun. While visiting Wamego, Jim was the person who greeted us as we went into the ‘Old Town’ area. He was in front of the communication building featuring the telephones. To see images of the antique telephones and other festival images, click here.

Ten years ago, there were just a few vendors, mainly informational. This year it was packed, vendors, food vendors and visitors! The main entrance took you thru the food court. Many different foods to pick. We arrived right at lunch time. For lunch we went to the tent where the Knights of Columbus grilled hamburgers, right side in picture. And on the way out we went to the Stumpy’s Smoked Cheese food truck on the left in the image. Oh my, the Mac and Cheese with bacon was delicious!

Bonus: #44, 101 in 1001. Eat at a food truck!

This was a wonderful day, weather perfect for the outdoor event. Glad we were able to go and enjoy!

My Cell Phone is more than Just a Phone

My Cell Phone is more than Just a Phone.

Hi, everyone now days has a cell phone. I remember back in the day when no one had them. And once upon a time, when someone did have one and it rang in public, it was considered rude!

How do you use your cell phone? In this post I would like to share how I use mine. Most of the apps I use are the free version. There are a few applications that I upgrade to the pro or premium. I will notate as I go which app is the paid version. Safety is huge, be sure to use applications wisely. One safety practice I use is not connecting to public wifi.

Now days our smartphones are just that, smart. I have heard we should consider them a computer in our pocket. Like most, I use my phone for calls, regular and by video; social media; taking pictures. In addition to the norms: I edit my pictures; track my steps; calendar to schedule appointments; banking, check balances, transfers and pay bills.

Smartphones are not cheap. Because of this I am trying to utilize my smartphone more. The app Adobe Scan has been a wonderful find. I no longer use my scanner that is connected to my PC. Using my phone now to scan simplifies my life. Just take a picture in the app to generate the pdf file. This can be saved right to my phone and I am able to email as needed.

Apps I can not live without

  • Project Life (standard)
  • PicTapGo (this is a yearly subscription)
  • Calendar (standard calendar on phone)
  • Weight Watchers (active member)
  • Bublup (free)
  • Maps (standard on phone)
  • Sonic (half price drinks all the time!)
  • Pedometer (Basic)
  • WW Update:
    Since Start Date; -10.6lbs 🙂
