My Sunday Snapshot #15

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 15!

My Sunday Snapshot was taken during my ‘Happy Birthday Party to Me’ party. This year I turned 60 and celebrating 20 years cancer free (with God’s grace)! What I find amusing, this is not my first post about toilet paper. You can see the first post about TP here.

The image above was placed onto each table as the center piece. I have included the center piece in the image below.

The main table center piece was made with many rolls of toilet paper 🙂 My folks contributed the items added to this cake from their own medicine cabinet! Mom thought it was funny when I asked her to contribute to the cake decorations.

No gifts were requested. What I did request was a selfie with each of my guests. There were many, here are some of the guests I knew wouldn’t mind me sharing.

I am so grateful and blessed to celebrate my 60 years and that my folks are with me to do so. This was definitely a milestone I will cherish forever. My family and friends made me feel very special.

My Sunday Snapshot 13

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 13! It was a beautiful day. During my lunch break I took a stroll outside. I had seen the cows lined up at the fence row, grabbed an apple to see if I could get one to take it from my hand.

As I got closer to them, the cows backed away from the fence. Do you recognize the brown/red cow? This is the one that first came up to me in the post Calves Part 2. Notice how much bigger he is?

He was interested. I just couldn’t get him to take it.

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 11!

Looking through pictures on my phone, I ran across my Florida trip images. There are so many pictures I want to save to an external storage. Even with my cloud storage, there’s something about saving to my own drive, security. Who knows, those services may raise the price to an amount I would not be willing to pay. I would still have access to my memories. After reminiscing- Oh, how I want to go back.

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 10! The hot chocolate was my best friend the entire weekend. Friday and Saturday was cloudy and cold. Friday evening after going to bed my feet never did warm up. My husband is a heater and even laying next to him I could not warm up. The hot chocolate was a warm welcome!

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 9! Every week when I met up with Adam for our movie/dinner night, I stop into the Dollar General store. This particular store is rather new. The building looks nice and there are trees planted. The landscaping mainly consists of rocks around the trees. When you see it, no one would think twice. However, I did and each time I would go there I kept saying I ought to take a picture. I did this time! The interesting images taken are hidden in plain sight.

My Son’s Humor | My Sunday Snapshot #8

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 8! My son, Adam, and I get together once a week for a movie and dinner. The movie is either on Netflix or Prime Video. Dinner is usually some sort of homemade dinner, not frozen dinners or take out. However, we did get Casey’s pizza this week. Have you ever had Casey’s pizza? IMO- it’s the best! Our movie (one I selected this time), DeepWater Horizon.

Adam is a typical young man. I have to remind him that I do need to use the ‘ladies room’ occasionally. So I tell him to be sure nothing is laying around in the bathroom he may not want me to see. This time when I had to use the restroom, the image above show’s the scene I saw. My son’s humor!

Erika had called and asked to meet for breakfast last weekend. We are always pleased to met with them! Once finished the grand girls wanted to come out to the farm and see the baby calves.

Briella wanted to get out of the truck. She thought she was a cow whisperer!

Frozen Bananas

My Sunday Snapshot 6

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot 6!

When I discovered frozen bananas it was when I was in the grocery store in the freezer section. I was looking for frozen fruits for my morning smoothies. The frozen banana and strawberry package caught my attention. Later I realized it is cheaper to buy bunches of bananas and cut them up myself.

The bananas do stick together when I place them in the freezer. Once the bag of bananas have frozen, I simply break them apart while they are in the bag by tapping the bag on the counter. When I first started freezing them, I would use a cookie sheet layered with parchment paper. Well, now I add the cut bananas right into the freezer bag. Much easier and quicker.

Calves Part 2 | My Sunday Snapshot

Hi, welcome to My Sunday Snapshot #5!

A couple weeks ago I visited the calves for the first time since they were weened from their momma. They would not let me get close to them. This visit was much different. I had to be quiet and move slow. Just standing at the gate, I held out my hand. The little brown calve came right up to me and licked my hand!

Then this bigger calve (much bigger) gained interest. He was at the back of the group and made his way to the front. I was a bit frightened. These cows can get big. And these calves are fed well to gain weight.

Once I was able to calm my inner feelings, I held out my hand to the big guy. Slowly he approached.
